JOINTS+JUNCTIONS
Matter Primer | Group Work | RCA
Joints+JUNCTIONs explores the relationship between rubber and bio-polymers, working with both naturally occurring and processed forms of materials such as alginate, beeswax, cellulose, silk, pipes, and rubber bands. The project focuses on creating joineries without the use of glue, emphasizing sustainability by relying on the inherent properties of the materials to form connections. Through these explorations, the project examines the tensions between the distinct qualities of each material, including their malleability and natural tendency toward degradability.
