STRUCTURAL RYTHMS

Compression Artefact | Super Reuse Platform | RCA
My work examines the tensions between the polished, uniform exteriors of Canary Wharf’s buildings and the concealed, imperfect inner workings that define their structure and function. This conceptual piece sheds light on the oftern-overlooked “DNA” of the building - columns, beams, pipes, and walls - which are placed inside a box which represents a section of the 8th floor at 15 Westferry Circus. Enclosed within an infinity box, these internal elements are endlessly multiplied through reflective film, symbolizing the repetitive design language that permeates Canary Wharf, from its facades to its replicated floor plans. The interplay of reflection and repetition invites viewers to question the dichotomy between appearance and reality, and to conside the hidden complexities that lie behind the district’s seamless glass exterior
